Buffalo Bills Might ‘Move Heaven and Earth’ for Washington Receiver

Rumors surrounding the 2024 NFL draft are flying as round 1 begins Thursday evening. Bills fans should take heed of what one draft insider is saying about their strategy.

The Buffalo Bills are likely to trade up the draft board to obtain a top-tier receiver.

After dealing Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans, Buffalo now has an opening at WR1, and one draft expert reports that general manager Brandon Beane is considering Washington’s Rome Odunze to fill that place.

ESPN’s Matt Miller appeared on the Dan Patrick Show and made a daring prediction for the Bills on draft night.

“I think Buffalo would love to move heaven and earth to get Rome Odunze,” Miller went on to say. “I completely agree with this strategy.”

Odunze, a potential Top 10 choice, would almost certainly force the Bills to move up from their present first-round position of 28th overall to draft him.

“If you could take this year’s first, next year’s first and get a Rome Odunze in the Top 10 potentially,” Miller went on to say. “I think Buffalo is one of the few teams, really, where you could make that argument of you’re close. You have the quarterback, you have the infrastructure. You need that rookie wide receiver. You need that guy making $5 million a year, who can be one of the top players at his position.”

Odunze, an All-American, topped all NCAA FBS players in receiving yards (1,640), helping Washington reach the CFP National Championship Game.
