Liverpool legend Following online hatred directed at the Reds forward, Luis Suarez wrote a message to Darwin Nunez.
Darwin Nunez, a striker for Liverpool, received backlash online. Luis Suarez has encouraged Nunez to maintain his good attitude.
The 24-year-old deactivated several Reds fan accounts on Twitter and erased all but one of his Instagram photos pertaining to the team on Sunday, sparking rumours about his future with the team. His social media behaviour is thought to be a reaction to online harassment; the Uruguayan is currently having a difficult time supporting Jurgen Klopp’s team as their Premier League title challenge falls apart.
After celebrating Suarez’s 500th club goal on Tuesday, Nunez broke his social media silence to honour the Liverpool legend.
Nunez posted a response to his Uruguayan teammate’s first post, saying, “Idolo (idol),” followed by the tight bicep and heart-eye emojis.
Now that the Liverpool striker has responded, Suarez has thanked him for his letter. In addition, he urged him to keep a good outlook and focus on the future in response to internet harassment.
His response, which was sent in Spanish, read as follows: “Thank you, scorer, for always being there! Never forget to be optimistic and forward-thinking! and has the Uruguayan flag and the fist pump emoji attached.
Nunez had only scored once in his previous 11 Liverpool games, and that goal came about accidentally while he was closing down the goalie against Sheffield United. He has lost his spot in Klopp’s starting lineup in recent weeks due to his decline in form.
Nevertheless, Nunez has continued to draw attention this season despite a lot of obvious misses, becoming a solid fan favourite of the Anfield fans after registering 18 goals and 13 assists from 52 games across all competitions.
